Technological Advances

So, as you have noticed, my blog as moved to unrulyq.com. This was a change brought about by my boyfriend, Mike, who owns Unruly Q. He assures me that this is better in ways I don't quite understand, but he has a trustworthy face so I've put my faith in him. One thing we couldn't figure out* was how to do a forced re-direct, so that when you go to danulai.blogspot.com you'll be automatically taken to my unrulyq.com page. Any help with this would be fantastic.

One interesting thing that he told me was that he has a gig of space on the server. A gig. I have a memory card in my PDA that's a gig, and that thing is tiny...less than an inch long. I immediately became concerned that I'd take up his entire space, and told him that since I blog almost daily that in two years I'd have over 600 entries on his server. He told me that it would be okay. This kind of blew my mind...that the tiny chip in my PDA could be capable of storing that much information.

Sometimes for fun I'll go up to my mom and show her a memory card or a flash drive and tell her how many CDs or photo albums or encyclopedias it could hold, and she just shakes her head and tells me that it can't possibly be real, and that she's going to stop believing in technology. It's the first time I've felt the same way.

Also, for those who were wondering...Danulai is pronounced DAN-you-lie. It's actually a mishearing of the lyric, "Damn your lies," if that helps.




* It was not an equal division of labor to figure this out. Mike's contribution was to sit at the keyboard, think, and type. I sat behind him on a wooden chair and petted his cat.
