Little Shop of Horrors
Last night I watered my plants.
With BLOOD.
It's true. I read that some plants like blood, so I diluted a bit of blood in a Cool Whip container full of water and fed them last night. For the record, my spider plant seemed to love it, but my philodendron and my shamrock seemed indifferent. Oddly enough, some carnivorous plants like Venus Flytraps hate it. I guess it has to do with the type of soil they're planted in.
Maybe you should try it the next time you're working with meat.

carnivorous plants aren't evolved to take in some stuff through their roots, that's why the evolved the insect grabbing parts to begin with. some plants just aren't capable of absorbing certain nutrients through their roots.
in fact, some plants can be killed by giving them plant food. i nearly killed my aloe vera by giving it regular plant food. i had to take it out of the pot, clean the roots and repot it in regular soil. i managed to save it. lucky me.
I've heard dad mention that some plants like blood. Old blood. Something he picked up at the hospital I guess.
