Belly Progress

Today I had another OB appointment. Things were fine, as usual. Philo's movement is slowing down, I think, but that's understandable. He doesn't have as much room as he used to. My doctor asked me if I felt much bigger, and I said no, just heavier. I feel like my belly hasn't grown at all, I just feel like I'm lugging around a lot more poundage than I used to.

That being said, here's a fuzzy shot I took of myself. I'm 32 weeks along. I feel like such a tank today.

And an aerial view. This is what I see when I look down...a whole lot of belly and a little bit of Mike's boots.

I've heard that eventually you can't see your feet, which seems odd to me. I can still see mine. Granted, I have to bend over, but they're visible. I'm not sure if the day will come when I can't see them at all, or if other people are just too unmotivated to work to see their feet.

I have to go out and buy more maternity clothes pretty soon. What a cruel joke. They're all elastic and stretchy and forgiving through most of your pregnancy, but right when you're in your third trimester and feeling all big and self-conscious, they stop fitting. Dammit. I'm going to just wrap myself in a bed sheet, toga-style, for the next eight weeks.

  • You look so wonderful and healthy!! Eh, what's a little belly between you & your feet? Dude -- you've got a person in there!

I hear ya on the toga-ness. You could make it part of your Baby Shower Party -- you know -- DRESS up style. Everyone who comes MUST dress in a toga. Most creative wins, I dunno, a new sheet set??

  • marvie tummy! :) the not-seeing-feet thing is not being able to see them by just looking down (silly!). of course you can see them when you bend over :)

i recommend a couple of pairs of those coveralls. they're great during pregnancy and can be worn comfortably after the baby's born while your body is figuring out that there's no little human inside.
