My Weekend in Pictures

Here are several pictures of my weekend.

On Saturday it was my 29th birthday. It's hard to have wild and crazy birthday plans with a seven-month-old in tow, so things were pretty tame. I had gotten two gift cards for my birthday so we headed to the mall to spend them.

Little P gets formula during the day now. I just can't keep up with his demand for milk since I'm not home with him all the time. I feel kind of guilty, but I know a few people who formula fed their kids and they turned out fine.

Our first stop was Steve & Barry's. The whole chain is going out of business, so most Steve & Barry's stores have insane clearance sales right now. We got this stuff for P. Everything was $2.50 apiece. He's set for summer.

My first gift card was from Mike, and it was for Old Navy. What did I get? More stuff for P, of course.

Mike's parents had given me a gift card to Target, so we went there too. It was for $50, so we got a lot of stuff like cat food, baby food, sippy cups, baby spoons, etc.

At Old Navy and Target I got some stuff for myself too, because it was my birthday.

A hoodie and lip gloss. And a bra, because I don't know what size I am anymore, but I'm too shy to go get fitted. So I just keep buying different sizes, and someday one will fit. I haven't had any luck yet.

Mike pointed out that I could have gotten myself more stuff, but after awhile it seems like you don't need any more stuff. And since I'm within 9 lbs of my pre-baby weight (HOORAY!) I didn't want to spend it on cheesecake or chocolate or anything like that. Spending it on stuff for P is fine.

Those of you who went to college with me will know the significance of this box.

Topper's makes this AMAZING taco pizza. We don't have a Topper's where I live now so Mike had to drive a bit to get me some. Thanks, Mike!

Today it's freezing out. It's even chilly in our normally sauna-like apartment. It's so cold that we won't let P hang out in his usual outfit of a t-shirt and a diaper. It's long sleeves, pants, and socks for everyone.

When I woke up I found frost on the inside of our sliding glass door. It's -6 degrees with a vicious wind. I hate this kind of weather because I always worry a lot about homeless people. I hope everyone finds some kind of shelter today.

We've also had a lot of snow lately. It looks like our St. Francis bird feeder is wearing a hat and coat.

This is the view from our balcony.

So today we're staying inside. I might let P crawl around in the hallway to get a change of scenery. I think he gets bored being in the apartment all day.

So yeah, we've had a pretty good weekend so far. And now I'm looking at two wonderful weeks of winter break. Awesome.
