Movie Soundtrack

This is a meme that’s going around. Copy and paste this to your blog, then open up your mp3 program of choice – iTunes, RealPlayer, whatever you’ve got. Let it play randomly, and put the first song that plays under Opening Credits, then press the fast-forward button to get the next random song.

And no cheating to cover some of the lame tunes you have stored on your computer! As you can see here, I concealed nothing.

Also, you don’t have to make up a whole story. I just did for fun.

Opening Credits
“So Far Away” – Dire Straits
As you can see, this sets the tone of my movie as a romance flick.

Waking Up
"Bring It On Home" – Sister Hazel
Another come-back-to-me-baby song. I suppose this would involve the main character getting up and staring longingly at a photo of her loved one.

First Day At School
“In the Summertime” – Mungo Cherry
I suppose she’s going to summer school…or teaching it. Yeah, teaching summer school is better.

Falling in Love
“Never Let You Go” – Third Eye Blind
Oh! A new love! A cute teacher! She forgets her old flame and longs for the new guy.

Fight Song
“Tubthumping” – Chumbawamba
So…there’s a fight. And she and her new love interest break it up, but he gets hurt. And she has to take him to the nurse’s office and get him patched up. Awww…

Prom
“Baby Got Back” – Sir Mix a Lot
Maybe not prom, but a summer-school dance. What a great song! They dance and admit their interest for one another!

Life is Good
“Song 2” – Blur
So she drives off into the night, happy about how things are going.

Mental Breakdown
“No Rain” – Blind Melon
But then she remembers her old relationship…

Driving
“Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” – Bob Dylan
…with a stoner!...

Flashback
“Sweet Home Alabama” – Lynrd Skynrd
…a redneck stoner!...and after she thinks about him, she realizes she’ll never go back! Hooray!

Getting Back Together
“Judy Is A Punk” – the Ramones
So she and the cute teacher go on a date at a rock show…

Sex Scene
“Someday” – Sugar Ray
…and plan to have sex at some point in the indeterminate future. She can’t right now. She…she still has feelings for her old boyfriend, even though she knows he’s bad for her!

Paying the Dues
“Wonderwall” – Oasis
But first she has to get closure with her old boyfriend. So she drives down to the trailer park where he lives.

The Night Before the War
“Bullet With Butterfly Wings” – Smashing Pumpkins
And she’s nervous but determined to tell him that she’ll never go back to him.

Final Battle
“Sex and Candy” – Marcy Playground
So she and the old boyfriend fight. She realizes what a jerk he was, and that he was just using her for fun times.

Moment of Triumph
“The Bad Touch” – the Bloodhound Gang (also known as The Mammal Song)
She breaks free of the past! Hooray! Let’s get it on, new boyfriend!

Death Scene
“La Gasolina” – Daddy Yankee
But…uh…then she gets hit by a car! Tragedy!

Funeral Song
“Star Wars Imperial March” – Cover by Green Day
Woah. Holy crap, I want this played at my funeral. Write that down Mike…I WANT GREEN DAY’S COVER OF THE IMPERIAL MARCH PLAYED AT MY FUNERAL.

End Credits
“Hand Me Down” – the Wallflowers
And then the screen goes dark. Fin.

I wonder if anyone would pay me for this...

Wait, what?

Today I had a low-functioning student who loves to talk. He spends his day making the most obvious, mundane observations in a flat, monotone voice. After awhile everyone tunes him out, including me.

Today he was telling me about lunch.

"Louie spilled ketchup," he said.

"Oh, that's too bad that Louie spilled the ketchup," I replied. Expanding his utterances is the only way I keep from going insane.

"Louie spilled the ketchup on my jeans," he said.

"I'm sure that Louie didn't mean to spill the ketchup on your jeans," I said.

"Louie spilled the ketchup on my shirt," he said.

"Oh, I'm sorry the ketchup got on your shirt," I said, my eyes glazing over.

"I said, 'This ill behavior must end,'" he said.

"Oh, that's...wait, what?" I asked.

"I said, 'This ill behavior must end,'" he repeated.

"Where did you hear that?" I asked.

"I said it."

"Well, yeah," I said, "but where did you hear it before?"

He paused for a moment, looking at me. "The ketchup got on my shoe," he said.

I sighed. "I'm sorry the ketchup is on your shoe," I said.

At least it broke up the monotony.

Hooray and Halloween

Yesterday one of my friends called me - she's pregnant! There were lots of Yay!'s and much high-fiving with Mike (not that he had anything to do with the impregnation - he was just around when I got the phone call). So congratulations to her, and in her honor my Halloween costume this year will be "pregnant lady."

<>Oh, just kidding. I already did that one time, and all it got me was horrified looks when I punched my belly pillow to get it to lay right. Apparently I was really convincing in my role as a pregnant lady. Or my role as a terrible mother.

Anyway, I've pretty much decided on my Halloween costume. It's "crazy cat lady." I figure I'll get a sweatsuit, loosely sew velcro onto the sweatsuit and some plush cats, and then velcro them onto me so it looks like I have several cats hanging off of me. I also want to get a wig that I can sew a cat onto so it looks like I have one in my hair. After Halloween I can snip off the velcro and donate the cats to a thrift store. I'm gonna keep the sweatsuit.

Of course, there are those people who say that I don't need to dress up to be a crazy cat lady, that it would be like dressing up as "a speech therapist" or "Christine"...it's what I already am. To them I say, shut up. Five cats does not a crazy cat lady make. The limit is twelve if you treat them like cats, and seven if you treat them like babies. It's a scientific fact.

Mike is going as a pirate. I think that'll be cool.

So, apart from the pregnancy news, things are settling back to normal quite nicely after the wedding. I'll post pictures when I get 'em, but for the most part I'm really happy to sink back into the quiet life with Mike.

Well, as quiet as life gets around here.

The wedding is over!

The wedding is over. It was beautiful and fun and everything else weddings usually are. The best thing was that I think it did justice to the feelings that Mike and I have for each other.

Expect a more detailed summary later and many photos as they come in. For now, I have this video my sister took with her camera. Between the wedding and the reception Mike, the wedding party, and I went to Quiznos and then to a bar/bowling alley with many video games. Mike and I went head-to-head on Dance Dance Revolution. In our formal wear. It was fabulous.

Enjoy!
